It is time to reclaim Bayelsa's glory - Alaibe

Recently, Mr. Timi Alaibe resigned his appointment as Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and joined the governorship race in Bayelsa State on the platform of the Labour Party. In an interview with select journalists in Abuja after formally handing over to his successor, Alaibe spoke about his stewardship and other issues. Our Abuja Bureau Chief YOMI ODUNUGA was there.

What is your candid assessment of the Amnesty Programme for ex-militants and would you say that militancy is over in the Niger Delta?

The Amnesty Programme has been a resounding success which will go down in history as the most sincere effort by the Federal Government to address the Niger Delta question...
