Lagos (WorldStage Newsonline)-- Federal Government on Thursday read the riot acts to former combatants in the Niger Delta region to abide by the Code of Conduct entered into at the Obubra Camp, even when they are outside the country for vocational training centres.
It also threatened that stiffer penalties await any of them who violate the rules or disturb the peace process of the re-integration process while undergoing training abroad.

Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Kingsley Kuku who read riot act to 42 ex-militants who left Murtala Muhammed international Airport Lagos to Sienna, South Africa for training in various capacities in the ongoing re-integration process of the amnesty program.

The batch that departed the country on Thursday brought to 292 of ex militants sent abroad for various training out of the 26,358 ex-combatants who voluntarily submitted their arms to embrace the amnesty programme of the federal government.

Kuku who spoke with the delegates in pure grass roots language easily understood by all, said without the ex militants signing the Code of Conduct to show compliance to rules and regulations they would not be allowed to leave the country so as not to bring the country’s name to shame.
