Cameroon: 11 Officials Believed Held In Nigeria

It is believed that 11 government officials are being held hostage in Nigeria, officials from Cameroon said Feb. 8, AP reported. The hostages were reportedly seen being taken to an island on Nigeria’s side of the border, according to Kombo Etindi Mayor Cornelius Edonde, in Cameroon’s Bakassi peninsula. Edonde said he believes the Bakassi Freedom Fighters carried out the kidnappings.
