SSS quizzes Trust reporters over protest reports

Operatives of the State Security Service (SSS) have interrogated two reporters of Daily Trust newspapers over the reports of protests in some northern cities against the nomination of President Goodluck Jonathan as People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate.

Katsina State correspondent Malam Lawal Ibrahim and his Bauchi State counterpart Ahmed Mohammed were “invited” by the directors of the security service in their respective states to explain the reports they filed from their states.

Protests were staged in Katsina, Kaduna, Hadejia and Bauchi cities to express anger over the defeat of the northern consensus candidate former Vice President Atiku Abubakar by President Jonathan at the PDP’s primaries.
