No voter cards, no pilgrimage, Sylva tells pilgrims

The Bayelsa State governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, said any pilgrim that fails to produce the voter registration card would not be allowed to partake in the 2010 Christian pilgrimage to Israel.

Also, he advised the intending pilgrims to abstain from any act capable of tarnishing the good image of not only the state, but the country as a whole. 1,009 pilgrims from the state will be taking part in the holy exercise.

In his charge at a commendation service held at the King of Glory Chapel, he warned against the repeat of the ugly experience of the 2009 exercise during which one of the pilgrims absconded, threatening that anybody caught would face the music

On the voter registration, the governor said that it became imperative for all the pilgrims to register, as the government could not afford to lose the votes of over 1,000 pilgrims.
