Nigeria denies bail to Abuja car bomb suspects
A Nigeria court on Tuesday denied bail to four people, including the brother of suspected militant leader Henry Okah, who face terrorism and treason charges related to fatal car bomb attacks in Abuja.
Charles Okah and three others were detained earlier this month on allegations they helped to co-ordinate and carry out the Oct. 1 bombings, which killed at least 10 people.

The court said the main trial would begin on Jan. 12.

"I was unable to lay my hand on any concrete fact or evidence by which I will be satisfied that the accused applicants, if admitted to bail, would be available for their trial," Justice Gabriel Kolawole said.

Henry Okah, the suspected leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), a militant group which claimed responsibility for the attack, is being detained in South Africa over his alleged involvement in the bombings.
