Explosion rocks PDP governorship rally in Bayelsa
Explosions suspected to be time bomb on Wednesday rocked the campaign venue of a PDP governorship aspirant, Beimo Spiff, at a primary school in Yenagoa.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the rally has barely started when the explosive devices, suspected to have been buried, went off one after the other.
Two ladies sustained serious injuries while several others, who sustained various degrees of injury, were said to be receiving treatment at undisclosed hospitals.
Security operatives and other people were seen scampering for safety during the incident until the men of the Joint Military Taskforce arrived at the scene.
In spite of the incident, Mr. Spiff still addressed the crowd, who later re-grouped. He said that no amount of intimidation would deter him from going on with his campaign.
