Cote D'Ivoire: Nigeria Willing To Take Current President

Nigerian Foreign Minister Aliyu Idi Hong said his country is willing to allow the president of Cote d’Ivoire, Laurent Gbagbo, to go into exile in Nigeria, BBC reported Dec. 21. While his country recognizes Alassane Outtara as the winner of recent elections, he said, Nigeria will do whatever is possible to find a peaceful resolution to Cote d’Ivoire’s current crisis.

Cote d'Ivoire: 6,000 Refugees Flee To Liberia
More than 6,000 people have left Cote d’Ivoire and fled to Liberia with 200 more going to Guinea, U.N. refugee agency spokeswoman Adrian Edwards said, AP reported Dec. 20. Emergency supplies are being airlifted to help up to 30,000 people, but Edwards said that number is only a planning figure
