The Federal Government plans to create 11 million jobs by providing funds for the establishment of small and medium scale enterprises (MSMEs) through the Bank of Industry (BOI).

This is just as President Goodluck Jonathan assured that the 2012 budget will be fully implemented in order to revitalise the country's industrial sector to create millions of the much-needed jobs for the growth of the economy.

Jonathan spoke yesterday while commissioning the newly constructed head office of the BOI in Abuja. The Minister for Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, said 11 million jobs would be created between 2012 and 2013.

Aganga said, "The MSMEs employ over 75 per cent of employment capacity we have today in the country. If each of our 11 million MSMEs creates one job in one or two years, we will be able to create 11 million jobs in two years. That is how important the sector is."
