Mimiko wins Tribune governor of the year Award

Ondo state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has been nominated Governor Of
the year by the Management and editorial board of African Newspapers of
Nigeria plc, publishers of the Tribune titles.

The governor, according to the Managing Director of the Titles, Rev. Sam
Adesua, was considered worthy of the award because of his high level
performance, charismatic leadership style and simple approach to public
outing.

The nomination is coming at the heels of the same honour by the apex body
of Journalists in the country, the Nigerian Union of Journalists and   Ben TV,
United Kingdom, thus bringing to three such awards for   Mimiko within the
last three weeks.

Rev. Sam Adesua, in a  letter, said the decision for the honour  resulted from
an assessment of series of stringent criteria, including the most impactful
policies and programmes, public probity and delivery of democracy dividend,
all of which the publishers mentioned are evident in administrative approach
of  governor Mimiko.
